Focuses on the goals, scope and methodology of the finance function and its role in corporate management. Explores theoretical framework of finance, enabling students to evaluate a firm’s investment, financing and dividend policies. Skills are developed in the identification and analysis of financial problems, including the use of computer-based models. The institutional environment of corporate finance is presented so students may appreciate how major participants operate, and what constitutes the most significant advantages and disadvantages of various sources of finance in Australia.
