During recent years there has been an increasing demand for specialised knowledge and expertise from event management companies and government organisations. These courses aim to provide comprehensive training in the design and management of cultural events and are intended specifically for those employed, often within local government, as cultural event organisers.

Admission criteria
Graduate Certificate
• Bachelor degree
and/or
• employment as a Special Events Coordinator or similar position (several years of relevant experience would be required for employment in this position)

• Graduate Certificate in Cultural Event Management
Credit
Credit will be given for COM526 Site-Specific Cultural Performance to all applicants, who as participants in the 1999 Devising Celebration Project, successfully completed EDC502 Site-Specific Dramatic Performance.
Articulation
The Graduate Certificate in Cultural Event Management articulates with the Graduate Diploma of Cultural Event Management and credit is awarded in the Graduate Diploma for all subjects completed in the Graduate Certificate.
Graduation requirements
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points (eight subjects) for the Graduate Diploma and 32 points (four subjects) for the Graduate Certificate.
Admission to Master of Arts (Communication - Cultural Performance)
Students who have satisfactorily completed the Graduate Diploma requirements and are subsequently admitted to the Master of Arts (Cultural Performance) will be awarded 48 points of credit for COM525, COM526 and COM527.
