The program aims to meet the diverse needs of managers and others working within the broad field of human services, either in the public or the non-government community sectors. The course is offered in partnership with Relationships Australia, which is an industry leader in the counselling and mediating field. Two residential schools based in Sydney are involved.

Part-time 2 years (4 sessions)

Students may commence this course in either Autumn or Spring sessions.

Admission criteria

Normally, a degree in a relevant field such as social work, social welfare or psychology is required.

Entry is also available to those applicants without a tertiary degree who have substantial industry experience and whose employing body attests to their likely academic and vocational success; or people who, in the opinion of the Course Coordinator, would be suitable for the program.

Credit

Credit of up to four subjects (32 points) may be awarded to a student who has completed equivalent study at Masters, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma level at a recognised tertiary institution. All credit applications will be considered by the Course Coordinator.

Progression to the Master of Human Services Management

Students who complete the Graduate Diploma may proceed to the Master of Human Services Management with credit for four subjects.

Graduation requirements

To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points, consisting of six 8 point subjects and one 16 point subject.
