This course builds upon a number of Graduate Diploma courses in advanced specialist areas and provides an opportunity for advanced practitioners to undertake research projects aimed at enhancing current practice. Areas of specialisation are:
• Child protection investigation
• Compliance
• Crime prevention
• Criminal intelligence
• Fire Investigation
• Fraud investigation
• Investigations management
• Police negotiation

Admission criteria
Applicants must have completed all of the requirements of one of the following Graduate Diploma courses:
• Graduate Diploma of Child Protection Investigation
• Graduate Diploma of Compliance
• Graduate Diploma of Crime Prevention
• Graduate Diploma of Criminal Intelligence
• Graduate Diploma of Fire Investigation
• Graduate Diploma of Fraud Investigation
• Graduate Diploma of Investigations Management
• Graduate Diploma of Police Negotiation
or an equivalent
graduate diploma completed at an Australian university or overseas equivalent.
The Graduate Diploma must have been completed at a credit grade level.
Credit
Upon admission, all
students are awarded 64 points of credit for the completed Graduate Diploma.
Graduation requirements
To graduate,students must satisfactorily complete 96 points, comprising
the 64 points of credit awarded upon admission and 32 points completed during
enrolment in the Master degree.
Course structure
The Master component of
the course comprises a dissertation proposal and a dissertation undertaken in
an area of study associated with that of the Graduate Diploma already
completed.

Upon completion, students will graduate with one of the following awards, depending upon the area of study:
