This course provides a
professional program in child and adolescent welfare that meets the needs of
both government and non-government sectors. It is designed to meet the
requirements of people working or proposing to work in the child and adolescent
welfare field who are graduates but do not have a specific qualification in
this area. There are no residential schools.

Admission criteria
Applicants should hold
a relevant degree or diploma from a university or college or a qualification
deemed to be equivalent.
Credit
Students may, on application,
be awarded credit for equivalent subjects completed at a Master level up to a
maximum of four subjects. Students with experience in the field can gain credit
for prior learning to a maximum of two subjects. Students who have completed
the Graduate Diploma of Human Services (Child and Adolescent Welfare) will,
upon admission, be awarded credit for four subjects.
Graduation requirements
To graduate, students
must satisfactorily complete 64 points, consisting of eight session-length
subjects.

*Students who have
completed the Graduate Diploma of Child and Adolescent Welfare substitute for WEL421 an elective, which
may be chosen from any appropriate welfare area, such as juvenile justice.
