The aim of the Doctor
of Ministry is to provide opportunities for professional development in
ministry at the highest academic level, to enable students through a period of
systematic reflection on the practice of ministry, and to make a distinct
contribution to the professional ministry, by critical, creative and
academically informed investigation of some aspect of the profession.

Admission criteria
Admission to Part 1 (Master of Ministry)
Candidates for admission to the master component of the program shall:
1) hold an undergraduate degree in theology or its equivalent; or
2) hold the Graduate Diploma of Theology with Credit average or higher.
Admission to Part 2 (Doctor of Ministry)
Candidates for admission to the doctoral component of the program shall:
1) have completed the Master of Ministry program at CSU (with the course requirements as specified below for those students completing the Master degree after 2002) or hold a qualification deemed to be equivalent; and
2) have achieved a credit average in their master level study. This means that a grade lower than a credit may be offset with a grade higher than a credit, with the exception of those subjects that have a bearing on capacity to undertake dissertation work. For such subjects, a credit grade or better is required. In the CSU Master of Ministry, this requirement will apply to THL510; and
3) have a minimum of five years relevant professional experience.
CSU Master of Ministry: For students completing the Master degree after 2002, the following subjects must have been included in course requirements in order for the student to be eligible for admission into the Doctor of Ministry:

THL511 Approaches to Biblical Interpretation for Ministry
Melbourne College of Divinity Master of Ministry (MCD MMin): Students completing the MCD Master of Ministry course must have included subjects comparable to the following subjects:

San Francisco
Theological Seminary Doctor of Ministry Coursework (STFS DMin): Students who
have completed the coursework requirements of the San Francisco Theological
Seminary Doctor of Ministry will be eligible for admission into the Doctor of
Ministry.
Sydney College of
Divinity Master of Theology (SCD MTh): Students who have completed the Sydney
College of Divinity Master of Theology will be assessed on a case by case
basis.
Graduation requirements
To graduate, students
must satisfactorily complete 192 points, comprising 64 points of credit awarded
for the Master degree (or its equivalent) and 128 points completed during
enrolment in the Doctoral program.
