Admission criteria
Applicants will need to
demonstrate evidence of the successful completion of a tertiary degree
equivalent to an Australian undergraduate degree.
Graduation requirements
To graduate, students
must satisfactorily complete 64 points (eight 8 point subjects).
Enrolment pattern
Students may commence
their course of study in either Autumn or Spring Sessions. Regardless of
commencement time, the following enrolment pattern will apply:
Session 1
JST430 Introduction to Corrections in Asia and the Pacific
JST104 Foundations in Criminology
Session 2
JST433 Principles of Correctional Management
ETH404 Ethical Issues in Correctional Management
Session 3
SRM500 Social Research Methods
or
JST508 Researching Crime and Deviance
and one from:
PHL409 Theories of Justice*
JST516 Correctional Administration Reading Subject
[ ] Elective
Session 4
JST431 Psycho-Social Aspects of Correctional Management
JST432 Practicum – Correctional Administration
or
PHL409 Theories of Justice
*PHL409 is compulsory in
Session 3 if students intend to undertake the practicum in Session 4.
