Fees apply

These courses aim to meet the educational needs of those with responsibility for fraud investigation and prevention in the police and the public and corporate sectors. They have been developed in collaboration with the Commercial Crime Agency of the New South Wales Police Service.

Graduate Diploma: Part-time 2 years (4 sessions)

Graduate Certificate: Part-time 1 year (2 sessions)

Admission criteria

A degree in a relevant field or its equivalent in professional experience and qualifications are required. Examples of equivalence include police service detective training and more than three years investigative experience; or more than three years investigative experience and associated industry training in a non-police fraud investigation role.

Credit

Students who have successfully completed the non-award courses offered by the University; Introduction to Fraud Investigation; Fraud Investigation; and Advanced Fraud Investigation are eligible for credit for the subjects JST409 Investigative Processes, JST423 Fraud Investigation and JST425 Advanced Fraud Investigation respectively.

Articulation

The Graduate Certificate in Fraud Investigation articulates with the Graduate Diploma of Fraud Investigation and credit is awarded in the Graduate Diploma for all subjects completed in the Graduate Certificate.

Graduation requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 64 points (eight 8 point subjects) for the Graduate Diploma and 32 points (four 8 point subjects) for the Graduate Certificate.

Admission to Master of Arts

Students who have satisfactorily completed the Graduate Diploma requirements with a credit average are eligible to apply for admission to the Master of Arts, which offers specialisations in areas of policing. Upon admission to the Master degree course, students are awarded credit for the Graduate Diploma and upon completion of the dissertation requirements for the Master degree course (a further 32 points), students graduate with the award Master of Arts (Fraud Investigation).
