These courses offer students an opportunity to undertake a thesis by research in the Faculty’s priority areas of research: rural social studies, Australian history, communication and culture, criminal justice and police studies, professional and applied ethics, psychology, social work, social welfare and social policy, fine art and drama.

Course completion

Full-time: 1 year minimum/2 years maximum

Part-time: 2 years minimum/4 years maximum

Students should consult the Higher Degrees Regulations for information about admission, duration and thesis requirements.

Graduation requirements

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete a thesis which is equivalent to 128 points.

Course structure

Students should contact the Sub-Dean to discuss possible research projects. In consultation with the Sub-Dean and the supervisor, each student will be allocated one of the following research subject codes and will enrol in that subject for the period of his or her candidature:
