The Master of Public
Policy and Administration (Honours) course is a research degree designed to
enhance the management and leadership capacity of members of policing and
related professions and to make contributions to these professions and the
community through significant research.

Admission criteria
Candidates for admission to the Master of Public Policy and Administration (Honours) degree program shall:
1) hold a bachelor degree with Class 1 or Class 2(i) Honours taken over a minimum of four years full-time equivalent in an area of relevance to policing or a related profession; or
2) have qualified for an equivalent award; or
3) have demonstrated in study or professional performance the potential to undertake research successfully at a research master degree level acceptable to the AGSP and the Board of Graduate Studies.
Graduation requirements
To graduate, students
must satisfactorily complete a major research thesis which is the equivalent of
96 points.
Course structure
The degree program
consists of a major research thesis which reports research on a topic approved
by the AGSP Research and Higher Degree Committee and the University’s Board of
Graduate Studies developed under the direction of the AGSP Research and Higher
Degree Committee and appointed supervisors. The thesis is expected not to
exceed 40,000 words in length.
