Enrolment restriction(s): BSocSc(SocWelf)(Hons) students only
This subject explores the relationship between ethical theory, ethical
principles, and social welfare The conflict between personal and professional
values and the legal and organisational context of practice will be considered.
The ethics of intervention and issues of autonomy, paternalism and coercion
will be studied. The subject will conclude with a discussion of moral risk,
responsibility and accountability.
