This subject examines the nature and operation of financial institutions and markets in Australia and the economics of the financial system in which they operate. A wide range of financial institutions, markets and securities are examined in detail, together with such concepts as financial intermediation, financial flows, interest rate determination and money supply formation. Emphasis is placed on contemporary issues in our financial system.
