Soil is the foundation resource of agricultural production as well as other land uses. The way we manage the soil will determine both the productivity of agricultural systems, and the way we manage soil health will determine the longevity, or, sustainability, of production. This subject has been designed to provide a practical introduction to soil and soil management, combining the basic knowledge of soil science with practical techniques for managing soil for sustained productivity.
