ASC142 Equestrian Coaching (8)

Prerequisite: ASC148
Corequisite: ASC206
Enrolment Restriction: Enrolment restricted to students enrolled in the courses 5403ES or 5403EQ
Each student enrolled in this subject must be capable of riding at the minimum level prescribed in the Equestrian Australia Introductory riding certificate. Each student must have a horse and equipment suitable for instruction, demonstrations and for participation in practical coaching sessions as required at each residential school.
ASC142 develops practical riding instruction and coaching skills in equestrian sports.The function of this subject is to develop and establish skills required to coach juniors, adult and senior riders from basic beginners through to higher levels competition.
Emphasis is placed on safe coaching practice, following established development pathways that are tailored to individual and group coaching situations.
This subject includes all the requirements set out in the Equestrian Australia National Coaching accreditation scheme level 1 general syllabus plus extra material, However students who are interested in non olympic disciplines may persue their disciplen of interest.
