BMS151 Health and the Human Body - Cells, Skin and Microbiology (8)
This subject introduces students at a fundamental level to core concepts in science and about how the human body functions. Although the focus is on cellular physiology, study of the integumentary system enables students to understand how cells constitute tissues and organs. Study of this system will also highlight its role in health and disease. In addition, students study micro-organisms that may affect the body and are introduced to measures that can be used to reduce the impact of micro-organisms' effects. Students are also introduced to issues and practice surrounding personal hygiene and therapeutic touch.
