BMS254 Health and the Human Body - Endocrine, Reproduction and Digestion (8)

Prerequisite: BMS151
This subject challenges students to develop a holistic systems based understanding of human physiology. Students study endocrine physiology and pathophysiology in depth. They also learn the basic physiology and pathophysiology of the reproductive and gastrointestinal systems. This subject addresses physiological changes across the lifespan through study of these systems. On completion of this subject students will have developed an understanding of the importance of these systems to prevalent health issues such as obesity and diabetes. They will also study the physiological, personal and sociocultural impact of recreational drug use.
