This subject provides students with a knowledge of microbiology and immunology necessary for a modern health professional. The microbiology section concentrates on the pathogens responsible for common infectious diseases. It highlights modes of transmission of these diseases, their spread and methods of their prevention and control. The immunology section provides students with a knowledge of immunological concepts vital for a better understanding of clinical physiology and pathology.
