ECO330 Regional Sustainable Development (8)

Prerequisite: (ECO100 or ECO120) and ECO110
This subject aims to develop an understanding of how regions develop. It begins with an overview of the key issues affecting Australia's regions. It looks at economic theories that both explain how regions develop and suggest appropriate policies for regional development within the economic, geographic and historical context of Australia's federal system of government. The contributions of major industry sectors to regional development are investigated, including their linkages and the development of industry clusters and networks, within the broad framework of sustainable growth and development.
