FIN563 Estate Planning (8)
Enrolment Restriction: Postgraduate Courses in the Faculty of Business
The role of the financial planner in regards to estate planning is to impress on clients the need for preparation in this sensitive area. This includes assisting clients to define their estate planning intentions, exploration of estate issues and preparing the client for their meeting with the legal specialist. Areas that the planner will need to discuss with clients include wills, powers of attorney, ownership of assets, binding superannuation nominations and the ownership and nomination of the beneficiaries of insurance products. Financial planners also need to be able to give advice to beneficiaries or executors of an estate. Assumed knowledge for this subject is equivalent to that found in FIN560.
