Enrolment Restriction: Postgraduate Courses in the Faculty of Business
This subject looks at the decision-making process that investors use when deciding whether to rent or buy a home, to invest directly into the residential, commercial or lifestyle real estate markets or to invest indirectly through unit trusts and syndicates. In each category, the price of property is an integral part of the decision making process and hence this subject will look at pricing models and the impact of factors such as changes in interest rates, government policy and taxation. The appropriateness of each type of property investment will be discussed for different types of investors and its impact on asset weightings in an investors portfolio reviewed. Property strategies and case studies will be used to outline the key points.
