The aim of the subject is to provide an appreciation and understanding of human resource management. Throughout, the student is encouraged to reflect on his/her own and his/her organisation's practices. There are many challenges in achieving effective people management, some of which compete with the aims of the organisation and the interests of the individuals within the organisation. This subject will discuss many aspects of human resource management in the policing context and will consider some associated dilemmas.
