Enrolment Restriction: Subject only available to students enrolled in the Master of Child and Adolescent Welfare
This subject develops an understanding of the emotions of children from adverse circumstances. How children feel in such circumstances is of paramount importance in child welfare interventions. The course of emotional development is explained with particular reference to individual variation. This subject considers both genetic and environmental variations in emotional development but concentrates on the latter especially the influence of adverse environments on the infant, child and adolescent.
