This subject introduces theory associated with information-seeking behaviour (ISB).The information seeking process is discussed and models used to illustrate the different approaches to its study. An introduction to communication theory is provided and motivators/demotivators to information-seeking are discussed. The range of information sources used in ISB are introduced and discussed.
