Digital information is inherently impermanent due to its dependence on rapidly changing technology. This places future scholarship, government, business and a balanced record of society at risk. Digital preservation is about maintaining information's usability. This subject provides an overview of the discipline including its history, concepts, challenges, politics, ethics and strategies.
