The subject provides an overview of contexts within which enquiry is undertaken, and introduces candidates to the role and potential of research in information studies. The subject provides a grounding in research traditions, paradigms and methodologies relevant to information studies. Candidates study the use of qualitative, quantitative and mixed methods and their application to information studies.
