Web based information systems, such as online databases, Intranet systems and electronic commerce systems, are conceptually different from traditional web sites, which are based on static documents. This subject covers in some detail the process of developing a web based information system, including object modelling, user-interface design, database design and programming. The use of commercial technologies for developing database driven web sites is emphasised.
