MHP207 Alcohol and Other Drugs: Interventions (8)

Enrolment Restriction: for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Students only
This subject builds on the first year elective MHP108 Alcohol and Other Drugs: Assessment and Stages of Change. It will examine current intervention and rehabilitation models for both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander and western culture, both short and long term, the concepts of dependence and harm reduction, pharmacotherapy's and other therapeutic models including the relevance of age and gender. The student will gain information on developing personal skills programs, strengthening and supporting community action and supporting and developing healthy policies.
