MID524 Contemporary Midwifery Practice (8)
Prerequisite: MID441
Corequisite: MID440 or MID393
Enrolment Restriction: Available to students enrolled in the Postgraduate Diploma of Midwifery, the Bachelor of Midwifery and the Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Midwifery courses as a compulsory subject. Available to registered midwives employed in a maternity unit and who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Health Science (Nursing) program.
This subject provides the student with the opportunity to explore new and emerging topics that will impinge on their midwifery practice. Topics such as evidence-based practice, health promotion and complementary therapies will be examined and students will be encouraged to apply this knowledge to their practice as a midwife.
