OCC310 Occupational Therapy Practicum 1 (32)
Prerequisite: OCC300 and OCC304
Enrolment Restriction: Students must be enrolled in Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
In this subject, students complete two supervised occupational therapy practice experiences. Each practice experience will last for seven weeks (which is approximately 265 hours per placement). Practicum experience provides students with the opportunity to manage their own caseload and to practise and consolidate their assessment, intervention, and evaluation skills. Students will also develop and consolidate critical evaluation and reflective practice skills. In general, this placement focuses on working with individuals who experience occupational dysfunction. One of the seven week placements or part of a placement may focus on planning or implementing an occupation-focused project. Students are required to pass each placement and related assessment tasks to pass this subject.
