OCC410 Occupational Therapy Practicum 2 (32)
Prerequisite: OCC310 or OCC311
Enrolment Restriction: Students must be enrolled in Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
In this subject, students are expected to complete either two seven-week practicum or one twelve-week practicum. Students will be supervised by an experienced occupational therapist or other relevant staff member if the student is engaged in a role emerging or project practicum. Each seven-week practicum will be approximately 262.5 hours in duration, combined 525 hours. A twelve-week practicum will be approximately 450 hours in duration. Students will be expected to be working as an entry-level occupational therapist by the end of this subject and become involved in management tasks related to their practice setting. Students will be required to demonstrate their ability to practise reflectively, to critically evaluate their practice and to critically reflect on their learning during the course. One of the seven-week placements may be a role-emerging or project placement for those students who have not completed a project placement in OCC310/311. Any student who has not completed a pro
ject placement in OCC310/311 will usually be excluded from doing a 12-week placement as they will be required to a seven-week project placement in fourth year.
