Enrolment Restriction: Bachelor of Podiatry, Bachelor of Podiatry (Honours) students only
This subject reviews and extends students? knowledge of pharmacology advanced surgical intervention. Surgical management of foot and ankle pathology is explored in detail and orthopaedic management of lower limb pathology is reviewed. Surgical intervention in the context of diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis, is a focus of study.
The pharmacology of a broad range of medicines will be studied at an advanced level, with a focus on analgesic and anti-inflammatory medication; antimicrobial agents; and medicines used in the management of diabetes. This subject comprehensively integrates the students? understanding of pharmacology, medicine and surgery.
