This subject is a foundational subject within the field of pastoral care and aims to prepare students for pastoral ministry in lay and church contexts. A model of pastoral care intervention will underpin skills development, alongside an understanding of human development and interpersonal process. Professional, spiritual and ethical issues arising within pastoral care settings will be examined.
