This subject investigates a variety of approaches to pastoral theology in contemporary contexts. It reviews the tradition of pastoral theology from classical writings to contemporary critiques and revisions. Biblical and theological foundations of pastoral theology are explored, as well as the ethics, tools and purpose of pastoral practice.
