Prerequisite: THL241
This guided reading subject consolidates work completed in earlier Hebrew studies (THL102 and THL241). It focuses on selected texts from the Pentateuch (Genesis 1-4; Exodus 3; 13-15) or the prophetic material (Amos 1:1-8; 2:4-3:8; 4:1-6; 7:10-8:3; 9:11-15; Isaiah 5:1-7; 6:1-13; 39:1-40:14; 44:1-5; 45:15-17; Jeremiah 1; 23; 29). To facilitate translation, literary analysis, exegesis and interpretation of selected texts, text-critical problems, grammar and the literary qualities of these texts are explored.
