THL458 Theology for Youth Ministry (8)
Enrolment Restriction: Master of Ministry students only.
The purpose of this subject is to establish a critical connection between the practice of youth ministry and the discipline of a systematic theology. It will benefit most obviously those who are seeking to give theological depth to their particular vocation through a praxis model of theology. The subject will also raise requestions as to how a youth hermeneutic might be developed with respect to Scripture and systematic theology. How might that hermeneutic sit alongside those others, such as feminist and ecological, which have arisen in recent times. This subject thus has an academic concern which goes beyond the specific context of those engaged in a practical youth ministry.
