THL471 Teaching the Bible (8)
This subject provides the student with a detailed knowledge of the Bible, an understanding of issues in Biblical scholarship and the opportunity to develop strategies for teaching the Bible to school students. The subject combines an academic approach with practical skills with a view to enabling the student to bring the Biblical and Church tradition alive in the classroom. It also examines ways to incorporate spirituality, draw links with the other perspectives (world religions, philosophy and ethics) and develop appropriate assessment items within a school based curriculum.
