THL489 Doing Theology and Ministry in Diaspora (8)
Enrolment Restriction: Master of Arts (Cross Cultural Theologies)
Master of Ministry
This subject is designed to concentrate upon the particular issues confronting the practice of ministry and theology in diaspora. It stands inside an emerging global concern for diasporic perspectives on ministry and theology.
It is a case study for the development of a cross cultural theology. It will alternate between the Korean Diaspora and the Pacific Islands Diaspora, from session to session.
People in diaspora form one of the largest migrant-ethnic groups to be found in contemporary Australian churches. This subject is designed to interpret their experience in the light of Australia's history of migration, settlement, and the increasing cultural diversity of the Christian faith in this land.
