The aim of the course is to provide a graduate qualification in Information Technology for applicants seeking to:
- develop skills and knowledge in an IT area appropriate to their professional needs;
- upgrade their qualifications prior to further study in IT; or
- prepare themselves for further study in IT.

Admission criteria
Applicants for admission must normally hold an undergraduate degree in any discipline from an accredited tertiary institution. Applicants without an undergraduate degree may be considered if they have other professional attainments or experience, such as at least 4 years experience at a managerial level, or at least 3 years experience in IT-related work, or a Diploma, or hold current professional certification in the IT area.

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 32 points

Course structure
The course consists of four standard subjects that satisfy the following conditions:
- There are at most two standard subjects at Level 1.
- There is at least one standard subject at level Level 3 or above.
- The subjects are taken from the restricted list of Computing subjects specified below or are as specified by the Course Coordinator.
Restricted list of computing subjects
The list consists of all the University's Computing subjects at level 2 and above, plus the following Computing subjects at level 1:

ITC140 C++ Programming Techniques
Note 1: A Computing subject is normally one having a subject code beginning with ITC.
Note 2: The following is a list of introductory graduate-level Computing subjects that complement the Level 1 subjects specified above, with each subject providing a possible starting point for your studies:

Enrolment pattern
There is no prescribed enrolment pattern. Students' enrolment patterns will depend upon their choice of subjects, the prerequisite needs of subjects and the session of availability of subjects. The example enrolment patterns below give some idea of how the course can be tailored to individual needs. Advice on subject selection and enrolment pattern can be obtained from the Course Coordinator.
