The Graduate Certificate in Teacher Librarianship is provided under a contractual arrangement with the NSW Department of Education and Training (NSW DET). It is designed to provide a base-level qualification in teacher librarianship for permanent teachers currently appointed as teacher librarians in NSW DET schools who do not have a qualification in teacher librarianship.

Admission criteria

The Graduate Certificate in Teacher Librarianship is available only to teachers within the NSW DET who are currently employed as teacher librarians but are not currently in possession of teacher librarianship qualifications. The NSW DET selects the teachers who will undertake the course.

Articulation

While there is no direct articulation, students who successfully complete the course and apply for entry into the Master of Education (Teacher Librarianship) may be offered an approved credit package.

Graduation requirements*

To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 32 points (four subjects).
