Graduates of this course will have cultivated keen inquiring minds which facilitate judgement and critical analysis. They will be familiar with, and be able to critique, key concepts relating to their research, including theoretical and practical issues, and be able to skilfully communicate their reasoning, knowledge, methods and analysis in the form of a thesis and within the guidelines provided by the University. This course will build on competencies in business and research, and allow students to pursue in depth a specific issue covered by the designated fields of research of the Faculty of Business.

Admission criteria
- An undergraduate degree at an appropriate level from an Australian university with a business major and an Honours year in a business related field from an Australian university
or
- an approved fourth year of study in a business related field
or
- an overseas award deemed to be equivalent to an Australian degree (with a business major and an Honours qualification) as recognised by the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition
or
- other qualifications deemed to be the equivalent of the above awards as determined by the Universitys Board of Graduate Studies.
Recommendation may be made that, prior to entry, a student gaining entry through completion of an approved fourth year of study be required to complete the subject MGT517 Advanced Research Methods.
Graduation requirements*
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete a thesis which is equivalent to 128 points.
