This subject will introduce students to the multi-million dollar veterinary pharmaceutical industry and the adventure of drug discovery. The work of bodies that approve, regulate and monitor the use of therapeutic agents in animals will also be examined. The principles of drug action will be explained and the major classes of therapeutic agent will be investigated. Alternative or complementary therapies will also be examined and discussed.
