DOH241 Dentistry 2A (Operative) (12)
Enrolment restrictions: Restricted to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Dental Science course.

This subject is designed to develop student understanding of intra-coronal tooth preparations and the placement of direct restorative materials (amalgam, composite resins and glass-ionomer cements). The subject will build upon knowledge attained in year one with lectures providing foundation (core) materials science content and additional lectures/seminars detailing factors affecting the clinical performance of direct restorative materials. Content will include; alloys/metals, ceramics, polymers and composites. Students will also be expected to develop an understanding of the holistic approach to clinical care through developing basic knowledge in treatment planning and case selection.
