ESA510 School Leadership 1 (8)

Enrolment restrictions: Only credited to Master of International Education (School Leadership) and Master of Education students. Students given credit for this subject should not complete ESA501 Leadership in Education 1.
In this subject students will understand and be able to debate the philosophical, political and structural foundations of the legislation and policies related to school operations in Ontario. The theories, models and strategies for effective decision-making, problem solving and communication will be related to the implementation of change. Students will be able to contrast a range of leadership approaches to build and sustain learning communities that support diversity, safe schools and character education, within the legal requirements of the Ontario context. Students who complete the subject will be educational leaders who have the knowledge and ability to promote the success of all students by leading the organisation, managing the operations and resources in a way that promotes a safe and effective learning environment.
