Enrolment restrictions: Graduate Certificate in Education (Inclusive Education), Graduate Diploma of Inclusive Education, Master of Education (Inclusive Education) or as deemed by the Course Coordinator
Collaborative decision-making resides at the core of effective inclusion models. In this subject participants learn effective practice in the processes of interpersonal, cross-disciplinary, and organizational collaboration and consultation. Practical application of skills in inclusive settings is required. It is assumed that teachers are required to collaborate with itinerant teachers (behaviour, vision, hearing, communication), psychologists, pediatricians, transition liaison personnel and other health and family-related professionals. Topics include building a repertoire of collaboration skills, collaborative problem solving, teamwork and teambuilding that involves working with multi-disciplinary teams in the inclusive school. Teachers will develop the skills required for collaboration and how to evaluate collaborative process.
