MGT584 Leadership in Business (8)
Enrolment restrictions: Postgraduate Students only. Not available to students who have completed RMMN5856.
This subject focuses on contemporary issues facing leaders in business. There is emphasis on the causes and situations that create complexity for leaders, and how to recognise and manage them, including strategies for resolution and implementing change. Specific issues include change, power, organisation, gender, culture, responsibility (to business and to the community) and ethical behaviour. Students will reflect on the strengths and weaknesses of their own leadership style through synthesis and critical reflection, and determine how these can be best used, or addressed, to improve their own effectiveness as managers. Assumed knowledge in this subject is equivalent to that covered in MGT501.
