This subject reviews and extends the students knowledge of a broad range of topics including pain; rheumatology and musculoskeletal pathology. Students review acute and chronic pain, pain assessment, and the impact of pain on functional ability. The study of rheumatology illustrates a spectrum of conditions ranging from pathology characterised by arthropathy, to soft tissue rheumatological conditions. Musculoskeletal pathology involving the lower limb is studied in detail, and analysis of a range of management strategies is incorporated.
