This subject introduces the nature and function of theology as a critical discipline in the church and in relation to wider society. Revelation, scripture, tradition, reason, experience, and praxis, are examined as key factors in theological reasoning. Central teachings of the Christian faith, including God, Christ, Spirit, salvation, and trinity are introduced. Differing types of recent theology and the history of their development are evaluated and compared.
