The course aims to:
- To provide Information Technology graduates who are highly competent in their field of specialisation;
- To maximise the synergy between local IT businesses in Bathurst with the School of Accounting and Computer Science;
- To produce graduates with highly developed industrially relevant practical skills;
- To produce adaptable graduates with highly developed interpersonal, problem solving skills, and a commitment to lifelong learning and professional development;
- Establish an environment of mutual respect between staff, students and the IT profession

Admission criteria
As well as the normal UAC requirements for a Bachelor of Information Technology course, there will be an interview process involving the industry partners and Charles Sturt University staff. If successful, students will then be offered a scholarship and allowed to enter the course.
Graduation requirements*
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 256 points.
Professional recognition*
The Australian Computer society (ACU) accredits courses in information technology to verify that they meet professional standards in terms of content, staff skills, teaching facility and quality assurance. Charles Sturt University has the highest level of accreditation, that is, accreditation at the professional level.
