Admission criteria
Admission to the course is based on the following criteria:
- Students who have completed a relevant TAFE/RTO Diploma
- Students transferring from the CSU Bachelor of Social Work
Credit
Credit package of 128 points or two years full-time equivalent based on the Diploma of Community Welfare or similar offered by all Australian TAFE and Registered Training Organisations developed under the CHC08 Community Services Training Package approved in 2009, and the superseded CHC02 Community Services Training Package V3.
Graduation requirements*
To graduate, students must satisfactorily complete 192 points.

Professional recognition
The Bachelor of Social Science (Social Welfare) degree is recognised throughout Australia, and by the Commonwealth and NSW Public Services as an approved three-year tertiary qualification for employment purposes.

Field Education
The field education subject meets the minimum requirements demanded for accreditation purposes by the AASW. Students have to complete a minimum of 400 hours in a supervised social work field education placement.
