Majors and Minors in Vocational Education and Training
VET Major
For students in courses which have provisions for a major and who choose to complete a major in vocational education and training, the following sequence of eight subjects is recommended:
EPT301 Teaching and Training in VET *+ (16 subject points – full year subject)
EEL320 Learning Theories for Post Compulsory Education
EPT322 Training in Workplaces*+
EEL120 Social Contexts and Individual Differences
EEP220 The Social and Economic Policy Context for VET
EEE220 Program Design and Assessment in VET*
EEB220 Language, Literacy and Numeracy in VET
Students may negotiate changes to the above sequence with the Course Coordinator.
+ These subjects have a compulsory practical component.
* TAA401 4 CERTIFICATE IV IN TRAINING & ASSESSMENT
If you wish to be issued with the TAA401 4 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment at the completion of your studies, you will be need to enrol with CSU Training. At the start of your first semester of study, you will receive an invitation to enrol with CSU Training to receive your TAA401 4 certificate. Upon the successful completion of the TAA401 4 embedded subjects, your certificate will be posted to you, subject to the payment of all fees.
VET Minor
For students in courses which have provision for a minor and who choose to complete a minor in vocational education and training, either of the following sequences of subjects is recommended:
Sequence 1: A teaching emphasis
EPT301 Teaching and Training in VET *+ (16 subject points – full year subject)
EEE220 Program Design and Assessment in VET*
EPT322 Training in Workplaces*+
EMT220 Flexible Delivery in the VET Sector
+ These subjects have a compulsory practical component.
